✅ Although drones are capable of autonomous flight, pilots should always keep their hands on the controls in case of any errors or malfunctions. In addition, they should check and maintain the following points to ensure safety and a smooth flight
1. Manage flight paths
- Make sure the drone is following the planned flight path and avoiding collisions with obstacles or other aircraft.
2. Flight height and position
- Monitor your drone's height and position, and keep your flight altitude within a safe range.
3. Manage flight speed
- Make sure your drone's speed is within a safe range and adjust it if necessary.
4. Check the battery level
- If the drone runs out of battery, it will slowly fall vertically.
- We recommend that you regularly check the battery level of your drone and remote control, and always stop flying when the battery is low (around 30%) and press the 'Return to Home' button to return and resume after replacing the battery.
5. Check for signal interference
- You should always make sure that your drone is receiving good GPS signals and flying according to the mission you created.
- Make sure there is no signal interference between the drone and the remote control. If necessary, reduce the distance between the drone and the remote control or eliminate the source of signal interference.
6. check for dust on the drone gimbal
- If there's a lot of dust, your photos won't look good and you won't get good results. Clean the gimbal and proceed with your shot.
7. camera and recording status
- Make sure your camera is working properly and capturing video or photos at the correct angle for the mission you set it up for. If you think there's a problem with your camera, stop shooting immediately and get it checked out.
- There may also be a problem with the cable connecting the mobile device to the controller. Always take good care of your cables and controllers.
8. Observe weather conditions
- Monitor weather conditions during your flight and prepare for changes in wind, rainfall, fog, and more.
- Stop flying your drone when winds are gusting to 5 m/s or higher, or when it is impossible to work at heights (e.g., by hand or by lifting objects).
- Autel drones are affected by wind, which slows down their flight speed. If the flight speed slows down, the battery consumption may increase, so be careful.
- Drones are water-resistant, but if it starts raining while you're flying, do a "return home" immediately.
9. Check flight behaviors and commands
- Make sure your drone is following your commands correctly. Modify or stop the flight behavior if necessary.
10. Prepare for emergencies
- In the event of an emergency, know the emergency procedures and use the emergency button or mode to take action. Pilots need to fly manually in an emergency to ensure they can make a safe landing.
11. Be aware of your surroundings
- Carefully observe your surroundings and maintain a safe distance from other planes, people, animals, etc.
12. Manage flight time
- Consider your drone's battery life to efficiently manage your flight time and plan for charging or battery replacement.
13. Maintain communication
- Maintain communication with the base station or remote control if necessary, and know what to do if communication fails.
